High School Juniors are encouraged to enter our Annual Youth Tour Essay Contest. The winner will receive an all-expense paid trip to Washington, DC, from Saturday, June 2, through Wednesday, June 6, 2012.

Students are asked to write a 500-word essay on one of the following topics: “Broadband – Where will it take me in the future?” or “Social Media – How could it be used to improve my future?” The deadline is Thursday, February 16, 2012. For rules and regulations contact Glenda at 644-5411.

Win a $2,500 FRS College Scholarship

High School Seniors have an opportunity to win a $2,500 Foundation for Rural Service (FRS) College Scholarship. Students are asked to prepare a 300-word essay on one of the following topics: “Describe your most significant accomplishment, and explain why you believe it to be your most outstanding.” “Describe the community in which you live, and indicate how it has influenced the person you are.” or “What industry or opportunity would entice you to return to a rural community after completing your education, and why?”

Essays must be submitted to the Green Hills office by Friday, February 10, 2012, for eligibility verification. Green Hills will then return the application to the student, so they can mail it to FRS by March 1, 2012. For rules and regulations contact Glenda at 644-5411.

Your Photo Could Win $100 and be Published!

Green Hills is searching for the perfect photo to display on the cover of its 2012 telephone directory. If you think your photo has the potential to be chosen, mail it to: Sherryl Garcia, Green Hills Companies, 7926 NE State Rt. M, P.O. Box 227 Breckenridge, MO, 64625.

Contestants must be a TELEPHONE customer of Green Hills Telephone or Green Hills Telecommunications Services. Photos will be judged for content, interest, and quality. They must be of a person, place, or scene within the Green Hills’ area. Please print your complete name, address, and telephone number on the reverse side of each entry.
