Systems Support Technician

SUMMARY

The Systems Support Technician is responsible to aid our company develop, use, and integrate IT systems. This position will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving technical problems and providing training to users and customers to maximize the productivity value of technology in business.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Set up work-stations computers and necessary peripheral devices (routers, printers etc.)
  • Install and configure appropriate software and functions according to specifications.
  • Maintain local networks in a way that optimizes performance.
    • DHCP, DNS, Radius, etc.
  • Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems.
  • Support the company’s customers in a remote Help Desk environment and/or on-site.
  • Supports various access network technologies such as DSL, HFC, FTTP and Fixed Wireless

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Must have a working knowledge of computer software and hardware and a variety of internet applications, networks and operating systems including but not limited to-
    • Microsoft Windows & Server
    • Linux
    • Microsoft Office Suite (Word/Excel/Outlook/etc.)
    • Firewalls
    • Good understanding of the OSI layers
    • Routers and L2 switches (CCNA or equivalent Cisco experience)
    • VM server configurations (VMWare/Hyper-V)
    • Ethernet standards
    • VoIP technology
    • Basic RF and WiFi technologies
  • Have great troubleshooting abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to listen and ask probing questions to assist in the troubleshooting process.
  • CompTIA A+ Technician certificate or equivalent
  • Certificate from college or technical school in Computer Science or similar
  • 2-3 years of experience in Network, IT or Technical Help Desk support

Network Administrator

SUMMARY

The Network Administrator is responsible to develop, maintain, and support our Corporate network. This includes Lan/Wan, server infrastructure and security. This position is expected to provide the same level of support to the company’s business customers and perform training materials and training, as necessary.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Set up and support a complete network design, including:
    • Routers/Firewalls
    • Layer 2/3 switches
    • Windows/Linux servers -stand alone and/or VM.
    • IP planning and management
  • Install and configure appropriate software and functions according to specifications and offer support as needed.
  • Develop, install and maintain local and customer networks in ways that optimize performance and monitoring.
  • Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems.
  • Support the company’s customers in a remote Help Desk environment and/or on-site.
  • Monitor, maintain and document the ISP network.
  • Assist Sales with technical design and budgeting.
  • Assist with vendor selection as needed.
  • Develop, justify and follow company budgets.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Must have solid experience working with computer software and hardware and a variety of internet applications, networks and operating systems including but not limited to:
    1. Microsoft Windows & Server
    2. Linux
    3. Microsoft Office Suite (Word/Excel/Outlook/etc.)
    4. Firewalls
    5. Firm understanding of the Ethernet layers.
    6. Routers and L2 switches
    7. VM server configurations (VMWare/Hyper-V)
    8. Ethernet standards
  • Have great troubleshooting abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to listen and ask probing questions to assist in the troubleshooting process.
  • Ability to understand ring topologies in Internet transport systems to better troubleshoot issues.
  • CompTIA A+ Technician certificate or equivalent
  • CCNA or equivalent experience on routing best practices
  • Certificate from college or technical school in Computer Science or similar
  • 2-3 years of experience in Network Management and/or design
